As a large employer and successful business we take our responsibilities to supporting the communities in which our staff and clients work and live very seriously. However, our staff undertake a vast amount of voluntary work not because they have to, but because they want to. All of our teams are given time off work each year to support a voluntary initiative of their choice. Some choose to support initiatives coordinated by the firm and others choose projects where they have a personal attachment.
The firm's headquarters is located at Two Central Square in Cardiff. Central Square is Wales' premier office location in the burgeoning business district of Cardiff. Established in 2007, Legal Network has assisted hundreds of law firms to retain their clients by offering expert legal advice in areas they do not practice in, or are unable to due to conflict. My remortgage was assigned to Hugh James and so far, it's been a disaster. Despite filling out the only questionnaire the day it was sent to me and printing/returning the signature field the next day, I am receiving emails warning me that I haven't completed the questionnaire - despite the fact that when logging into their tracking system, I have - and that they will let the lender know I no longer wish to proceed if they do not hear from me within X number of days. Yet. no one answers the phone or replies to emails or messages through the LMS tracking system.

Absolutely horrific service. Compared to the local solicitor used when purchasing the property, this is a true 0/5 star experience. Mortgages and remortgages have an enormous impact on people's lives - take it seriously Hugh James!

My experiences with Hugh James Solicitors have been over a 4 year period and it was a case of being patient during this time, having been told that they are dealing with over 4,000 claims against the MOD. Initially their was very little communication between myself the solicitor dealing with my case, this was until Fiona Quarrie ended up with the dealing of my claim were things started to move forward rapidly, all down to the fact that Fiona Quarrie was very thorough and professional in dealing with my case, which led to a successful outcome. I can strongly recommend Hugh James Solicitors to any ex Forces personnel who are suffering with hearing loss since 1987 and is capable of being patient.

My wife and I used Hugh James for our recent house purchase and sale. I cannot rate them highly enough. Very professional and quick and always at the end of the phone when we needed to speak to them. Great service from both Richard Jones and Robert Cave who we dealt with and I will definitely be recommending them to family for future legal assistance when moving.

By far the worst solicitors out there. They've cost me money because of completely unnecessary delays. They simply don't respond to emails or phone calls. I missed the settlement date already because of them and on course to miss the second one too. Its as if there are actually no people working there and instead I'm dealing with a (broken) bot. They will no doubt write a response to this feedback expressing regret and ask to provide them with details like they did with others.

But this is all a show, . If they're serious about this and other feedback they would've already taken steps to improve their customer service experience but that isn't the case. Avoid them at all cost where you can. To Hugh James, if you're reading this and tempted to reply, please instead of doing so go through your inbox and maybe pick up some of my (& others') messages and action them. Empty words here are useless.

I would highly recommend the Contested Wills Department at Hugh James. I received a high level of legal expertise and advice from both Oliver Black and Roman Kubiack, the Head of Department. Oliver treated me with the utmost professionalism and yet remained accessible and approachable. He showed an empathetic understanding of my situation and worked tirelessly to negotiate a successful conclusion for which I am extremely grateful.

Assigned by Virgin Money for a simple remortgage case. Virgin money provided the approval, did underwriting and I have sent back deed immediately and earlier documents as soon as loan approval came through. This firm does not pick up phone. No matter what day or what time of the day. Their tracker is faulty, does not show status correctly. Tracker advised that they have requested the Redemption statement from previous mortgage provider.

I called my previous mortgage provider and it told me they do not have a request. I have requested redemption statement myself and forwarded it to Hugh James, they have not acknowledged it so far. Tomorrow I switch to variable rate, paying 800 extra per month while spending 2-3 hours a day trying to reach these guys over email or phone. Advising Virgin Money and others not to use Hugh James. Serious waste of everyone's time.

I had dealings with the following 3 people -Katherine Allen, Claire Chaston and Sophie Nicol. They dealt with my injury claim in a very friendly and informative way and were extremely helpful in bringing the claim to a satisfactory conclusion. The claim was on a no win no fee basis and every step along the way I was clearly informed of the process and any fees that I had to pay, but were then returned with the settlement. I would not hesitate to recommend Hugh James solicitors.

Hugh James communication is poor based on my personal experience. For example, they have been acting on my behalf for my remortgage, however they have been slow to respond to emails and requested some information less than 48 hours before completion. Once I sent the requested information I received no response and was hung up when trying to contact them over the phone more than once.

My Mortgage was supposed to compete last week and i am yet to get a response. May I advise you review your communication practices and don't hang up on customers that have been left waiting for an hour.

Absolutely shocking service. Our straightforward remortgage, which we completed all paperwork for in November has still not completed. We are now a week away from our current rate changing, which will mean a big increase in our monthly payments. All phone calls and emails from our selves and our broker have been unanswered and ignored. Would definitely NOT recommend!

I used this shambles when fighting the NHS about CHC funding that was denied my Mother. It took 3 years for this outfit to get the case to an National Panel Review with the NHS. During those three years I had to chase them regularly and had at least 5 "solicitors" what ever they described themselves as, deal with my case. There was NO CONTINUITY. At the NHS panel review and "remember I am not a solicitor" but was represented by one of this lot, anyway, at the panel the Clinical Commissioning Group Representative stated "We at k####ow clinical commissioning group can not guarantee the security, content or accuracy of the nursing home notes!" That was extremely relevant because there were 4 months of my Mother's care home notes missing, notes that the CCG were basing their defence on, notes that were inaccurate, and un -admisable as evidence, because even the CCG stated they could not rely on those notes accuracy.

I state again that I am not a solicitor! BUT you would think that my so called professional solicitor on site would of said "I want the CCG's statement regarding the poor accuracy, lack of security and content, of the nursing home notes recorded within the minutes of this meeting". But she didn't and subsequently when I went to the ombudsman about my Mother's case the minutes of the NHS National appeal NEVER contained the statement that the CCG rep said that they couldn't guarantee the security, content or accuracy, of the care home notes that the CCG based their defence on.

So I could not prove that the CCG used un-admissable evidence in their own defence because of Hugh James's lack of foresight or experience. I warn anyone using this company in ANY fight against the NHS to think very carefully. When this company take on your case you are just a number, they don't fight your corner that strongly, they had 5 different people dealing with my case from day one.

They did not fill me with any confidence at all. If only I had my time again, I would of certainly chosen someone else to deal with this, rather than this dis organised shambles.

Mark Harvey & team (with a special mention to Sophie Nicol) could not have been more helpful, supportive, thorough & efficient in their approach to my case. They were always available at a moment's notice (usually managing to reply almost instantly to my messages no matter what random day or time I might have sent them!) & gave the time & patience needed to address any queries or concerns I had.

Their manner was always extremely professional but also warm & approachable throughout, they took the time to understand my perspective & I had the impression they are the kind of people to leave no stone unturned in seeking resolution of their cases. Definitely people you want on your side!

I was referred to this firm by Virgin money and subsequently received a text requesting that I return some documents that I'd never received. I then tried several times to contact them and discuss the issue. I eventually called their main head office to explain my issue and was told that I would probably need to wait at least 20 minutes to be able to speak to someone in the department I needed. I did once manage to get my call answered but no-one spoke on the other end. Still trying.with little joy!

We had an excellent service from Hugh James Solicitor's, regarding our mother's claim on behalf of our father who suffered from chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Bailey Davies dealt with our mother's claim, he was very compassionate and kind. He kept my mother informed from start to finish with sensitivity and clarity. The most unprofessional company I have ever had to deal with. They choose to ignore all my callback promises and when I eventually managed to get the paperwork, they hadn't signed the things they needed to. So this put me back to square one. I hope that anybody will think twice before using this company as they could not care less about you or helping you.

Rubbish. They sent out one document at a time, and were rude when I questioned this. They dragged the whole process on for months, which cost me an extra 1200 on variable rate

FIRSTLY HAD TO GIVE ONE STAR BUT WOULD HAVE PREFERED A MINUS -10. HOW HAS NATWEST EMPLOYED SUCH A RABBLE OF A COMPANY. NEVER PICKING UP THERE PHONES AND ANSERING OR REPLYING TO ANY CORRISPONDENSE AT ALL EMAILS PHONE FAX ECT. THEY SAY THEY HAVE HIGH VOLUMES I HAVE BEEN WITH THESE FOR NEARLY 6 MONTHS NOW AND STILL HANGING ON THE PHONE RINGING AND RINGING THEM. MY OFFER WILL COME TO A END SHORTLY AS WELL AS OTHERS HAVE. WHAT A DIBOLICLE COMPANY. DONT TOUCH THESE PEOPLE WITH A BARGE POLE FOR YOUR SANITY AGAIN MINUS - 10 TO 20. THEY HAVE NO EXCUSES WITH SAYING HIGH VOLUMES.
