Questions
How long does a divorce process take?
The divorce process typically takes 6-8 months depending on court processing times and whether financial matters need resolution. Electronic applications expedite the procedure.
What is a Child Arrangements Order?
A Child Arrangements Order specifies with whom a child will live and spend time following parental separation, prioritising the child's best interests.
Do cohabiting partners have property rights?
Unmarried cohabiting partners don't automatically inherit property. A Cohabitation Agreement protects assets and clarifies intentions regarding property ownership.
Can I change my child's name?
You can change a child's name with agreement from all parties with parental responsibility, or through a court order if consensus cannot be reached.
What happens if someone dies without a Will?
Dying intestate means assets distribute according to legal rules, potentially excluding cohabiting partners and stepchildren while prioritising blood relatives.
How does probate work?
Probate involves administering an estate through asset collection, debt settlement, and distribution according to the Will or legal intestacy rules with professional guidance.

Critical: Responsiveness Husband currently dealing with Riley Langdon and we seem to be getting nowhere. Very difficult to contact the solicitor, always working from home and when we do manage to speak we seem to be getting fobbed off. Would not recommend or use again- very disappointing slow service.

I've used Riley Langdon Solicitors twice over the past few months for both a sale and purchase of property. I cannot recommend Amanda enough for all of her help and support throughout the process. I would definitely recommend Riley Langdon Solicitors and wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.

I highly recommend the services of Riley Langdon Solicitors. I have had expert help from one of their Team in the sale of my property. I appreciated her explanations when I did not understand the process, her diligence in ensuring the Title Deeds were corrected properly, her excellent communication with me, and friendly, approachable manner. The fees charged have been extremely reasonable for all the work required. I will definitely use the services of this company in the future. Thank you Kemi!

Tracey Jackson of Riley Langdon did the conveyancing on my late mums property in Bishop Auckland. Dowens were the estate agents of which I would not recommend. However Tracey was the saving grace on the sale. She was professional throughout the whole process. She worked tirelessly (from Home) all the way through Covid (which she also had herself) If I telephoned and left a message, she called me back promptly.

If I e-mailed at midnight there was a response at 7am the very next day regardless, even on public holidays, Saturdays and Sundays. The reception staff were always cheerful and answered the phone with a smile. I would never recommend Dowens but would certainly recommend Tracey Jackson for anyone who wanted a professional efficient conveyancing service done. Thank you again Tracey Jackson of Riley Langdons
