Best place to sell your gold very honest! Thank you to mark, sue & Karen. Went to first place to sell my gold was offered 1300.00 Then went to Sutton's & Robertson's they offered 1391.00 Then came here and they offered 1962.91 staff were very friendly, and was easy opening an account. Provided my driving licence, and paid 7.50 for same day bank payments, and money was paid very fast! Since this review I've been back again after a rival offered 975.00 for my gold, and they beat it offering 1561.13 happy days!

I used to trust Bairds until I sold them Palladium I used to trust Bairds, having purchased many sovereigns from them over the years. Then I sold Bairds some palladium. Phoned up and was told that they would pay 95% of spot over the phone. Went into Hatton garden the next day to sell a few ounces and was told OTC they would only offer 90% of spot.
I walked outside and used my mobile to call them again and the lady who answered the phone said 95% again. I walked into the shop and told the girl behind the counter that I had just been quoted 95% of spot over the phone. The girl behind the counter called the quote woman (somewhere upstairs or in the East London mint I'd guess) and confirmed that I'd been quoted 95% but that had been a mistake because she thought that I was trade (at no point in either phone conversation was I asked if I was trade) so the telephone quote, given minutes before, would not be honoured.
I eventually sold a few ounces for 92.5% of spot, a compromise proposed by the girl behind the counter and agreed to by the quote lady to make up for her mistake. It's pretty bad for a bullion dealer not to honour phone quotes. I wrote a paper letter of complaint to two of Bairds' directors, the 2 with Baird as their family name. They couldn't be bothered to reply at all.

Satisfied customer Exceptional company and one of the best priced in the UK. Placed my order via the telephone, was emailed KYC forms that day, completed these and then bank transfer; the Gold was available for collection within 2 weeks. Was advised due to amount to collect in person. Very smooth and hassle free process. Purchasing physical Gold is not spot trading, it is a long term play. Baird deliver everything one would expect from a Bullion dealer of their standing. Cannot recommend highly enough.

If there was an option to give no stars i would have done so. Was there to sell gold but the guy at the counter downstairs expected people to register for an account without telling the price per gram of gold. The person lacked basic etiquettes and had a load of attitude for no reason. Best to avoid the shop like the plague

From my family background, I have some experience in dealing with gold bullion bars and I have dealt with different firms in the past. I have recently put my first order online with Baird & Co. to buy some minted bars. They seem reliable and trustful firm, but their customer services are weak, for 3 days I tried to reach their accounts or sale department by phone but it was very difficult.
I have sent 6 emails to sales and to account departments but all returned back undelivered, even their website does not show any email address for their accounts or sales or customer services or any other department. I have paid all the outstanding balance 3 days ago by a bank transfer from my bank account to their bank account as requested by their email with a clear payment ref. showing my order numbers, however, 3 days later I have received a reminder email that I have to pay the outstanding balance otherwise my order will be cancelled.
Again I tried to talk to someone who can look into my transaction and my account with no success, I replied to their email, but my email returned undelivered, then it came the weekend and I do not know if they will cancel my order or not. Despite my difficulties, my impression is that these people deserve 5 stars because they are honest and genuine and not fake and they are reliable, but they need to improve their communication with their customers. For this reason I had to take two stars away, and give Baird & Co. 3 stars only.

Absolutely terrible customer service and misleading information. Tried to open an account and provided all requested documents to have them come back and mention i require a corporate account, which i don't!. To save my time i insisted for a refund so i can purchase swiftly from other bullion websites and its 11 days now and counting but still no refund! Avoid this place, SAVE YOUR TIME and purchase where your custom is valued.

So it's my first time buying gold. I took a plunge and spent quiet a significant amount of my savings on the purchase. The first time I placed an order, the page showed an error when I checked out. Total nightmare and I had an error stating basket was empty when it was not. I quickly added the item back and tried again then it went through, strange.
The price increased so I paid an additional 20! I thought fine my issues are over, one step closer? Wrong! I then didn't receive a confirmation email until I phoned a chased it up. Bear in mind I am talking a lot of money here. I also told the customer service people and they didn't care. The price is the price type of attitude, and the website issue?
Not interested. They make you sound like your point is falling on deaf ears. So I was promised an email by mid day nothing! Call again told I will have it soon. Few hours sure enough it came through! Sorted then? No! I paid the full amount, amount on receipt has money outstandingly. I call in AGAIN I'm am told I paid in full no problems. Great can I have an accurate receipt?
No sorry we can't issue you with a new one. Why does it even matter? Well for insurance or when it comes to selling I have outstanding monies owed! A real shame and a huge hassle. Honestly take my advice and use another company. It's a shame as I was hoping to write a good review and support a British company but it back fired. I will update this when I get my item. I hope the troubles end. Hope this review helps.

Poor purchase experience. Purchased two gold coins for a gift five days ago. Had to open an account for this and provide documents. Provided all this five days ago. Had to chase the team up several times and was told that they had received the documents and it will take 2-3 days for the account to be approved. This is despite making a full payment through a debit card. It was approved on Wednesday and still not dispatched. Called again today and was advised that this should have been dispatched yesterday but still not done.

Absolutely terrible buying experience and customer service! Hugely complicated payment system which resulted in having to ring to pay down the phone after 15 mins of my bank rejecting their transfer set up repeatedly. I thought the nightmare was over after this however more was to come, the money was immediately taken from my account however this actually took them 6 days to acknowledge. An email sent querying this was ignored to this day.
I was also charged 11+vat for delivery of a single gold sovereign which was finally dispatched 7 days after the date of purchase, for 13 I expected next day delivery, but of course that wasn't the case, strangely I ordered another similar product from another dealer yesterday which has arrived today which further adds to the frustration with this company. So to recap, I'm a first time customer and my experience is poor, I won't be a returning customer, I'll use gold.co.uk who actually take customer service seriously.
