Just phoned in to make an enquire and the was greeted with the worst of an excuse front of house. Couldn't pronounce my name and after several attempts, I requested if i could be put to the relevant department. The lady in question said she needs a name and the call now may get 'cut-off'. Lost business as a phone in enquiry. Shame didn't even get a chance to speak to the professionals.

I had already used Vickers for my will and I now wanted to transfer some property. After an initial problem in that the solicitor who I had been recommended to failed to get back to me and I had to chase, I was then recommended to another who got back to me within 24 hours and went on to deliver a friendly and efficient service. I will continue to use this company.

Vickers came into our lives when my mother was dying of cancer and wanted to write a will. Put simply the appalling attempt by Vickers at writing the will means we still do not have probate sorted 4 years after my mums death. Many matters are still ongoing. I delayed writing this review for so long because Vickers as executors, took over the funeral arrangements for my mother and gave themselves ownership of her grave.
Only recently have I managed to rest ownership away from them. My mother has had to wait 4 years to have a headstone thanks to Vickers. I have not found that their Probate and Wills department has any special skills to recommend them. Their telephone manner is brusque. They send letters with spelling mistakes and address ladies as 'Dear Sir'. The Probate department is staffed by non-solicitors who are part time only.
They are hard to reach and do not return calls. The advertised rate of 100 to draw up a will sounds to good to be true and it is. What you should ask is how much they charge per hour if you appoint them as executors. Because that is an eye watering amount. I genuinely could not recommend this firm to anyone. In fact I feel it is my duty to warn others that they should seek help elsewhere and save themselves a lot of time and grief.
