Edward Lock and Simon Marlborough established Lock & Marlborough in 1986 with the key aim of serving the legal needs of businesses and the local community. From a very small beginning the firm has now associate offices in Paris and Brussels and serves a number of international clients as well as continuing to service, as they have for over 25 years, the legal needs of local businesses and private clients. We have years of experience in a wide range of commercial litigation ranging from the County Court to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg, acting for all size of business based both in the UK and overseas. Registration and enforcement in the UK of judgments obtained overseas. We recognise that businesses are there to make money and not to become involved in protracted litigation!
In this increasingly complex area our Employment Department has many yearsaE experience in advising both Employees and Employers on all aspects of Employment law. For Employers we are able to advise on engagement, retention and termination of staff including Contracts of Employment, Grievance and Disciplinary procedures and good working practices to avoid potentially costly litigation.
These generally arise where a spouse or family member wishes to make a claim for provision or where a client seeks to challenge the validity of a Will. These generally arise where a parent wishes to appeal against the refusal of a school to admit their child. Although we have expertise in pursing all these matters to trial with a high rate of success, we are also very aware that most of our clients do not wish to become involved in protracted litigation, and at all times we will consider the possibility of achieving an early settlement.

Our experienced Family Team offer a sympathetic yet efficient and professional service, as we are aware that any matters concerning your children are of extreme importance.
