We can always find something amusing to read in the gossip columns - the ins and outs of other peoples'. It's incredible how many things we have in our household that could possibly need to have legal cover at some. We really do see the differences in our legal systems when you read about certain cases in the US compared.Ahh the summer period has passed and we are well into autumn and heading at lightning speed towards the end. There are all sorts of things in place now to allow for families to travel abroad and take their pets.

We've recently been entertained by two actors whose marriage sadly disintegrated early on and the repercussions in the courts - one party having brought a defamation case against the other with a reported $50M compensation sought. We have different laws in UK and it's not at all clear that the case would have played out in the same manner if it went through our legal processes.

During lockdowns 1 & 2 there were apparently many divorce applications started in this country. It's probably the case all. In most families, apart from conveyancing activity when we buy and sell property, and maybe for the reading and disersal.

I had a list of estate-planning tasks to accomplish, including updating my will and POAs and re-titling some property. My sister and I are looking for an elderly/estate attorney. We contacted no less than 7 firms. Only 2 firms responded to my email.
