Boys & Maughan

We used boys & Maughan when we brought our first home, so naturally used them again when we sold and brought our next home. Fantastic company would highly recommend. Nothing is to much trouble and they always get back to you, even after working hours. Our sale and purchase was a tricky one to say the least but boys & Maughan was right there with us the whole way to completion. Thank you to Richard and Lauren highly professional and efficient.

We found the whole conveyancing process went remarkably smoothly. A key reason for this was the accessibility of our solicitor and the simplicity and friendliness that she bought to every communication.

Karen Gray is a really excellent Solicitor to deal with for conveyancing. Although based in Margate everything can be dealt with on line and/or by telephone in a most effective and responsive way.

Sharon is an excellent conveyancer, not judged solely by her ability to complete our transaction smoothly, but mainly because her level of communication to us was impeccable. Doing so by email was my preference, as it is quicker and easier, but also, when things needed explaining to us, she did so in a way that made it very easy to understand. We would wholeheartedly recommend Sharon and therefore the firm and look forward to using her again in the future.

I was influenced by the glowing reviews when searching for a local conveyancing firm during the purchase of my BTL and hired B & M for this purpose. Whilst I am sure they are mostly diligent and provide satisfactory conveyancing service, I was disappointed with the lack of communication throughout our engagement. They will tell you, as they have told me once I communicated my frustration, they are very busy and short staffed etc, yet a short 30 second acknowledgement or reply is all that is necessary for me to know that they have at least read my communication, nobody is too busy for that tiny gesture and it goes a long way.

I would also question the wisdom of taking on more clients if B & M are so busy that they are incapable of communicating within a day or two. I was unlucky with my assigned solicitor, which unfortunately has tarnished my opinion on the company as a whole, so on that basis, I do not recommend using Boys & Maughan.

Maddison and Melissa were fantastic throughout our rather trying and slightly complicated sale and further purchase, providing advice, an ear when we were frustrated and didn't know what to do, a friendly voice and of course the actual service we paid for. I cannot recommend Maddison & Melissa enough. We had some troubles with our sale (selling a 120 year old building was interesting) and Maddison and Melissa were on hand at every stage.

They were patient when we called to question things that they had already told us (and quite clearly) and happily explained every step of the way. Thank you to you both, so so much. When we were at our wits end, you reminded us at every turn that it was worth it, you are fabulous.

When looking for conveyancing solicitors we sourced a number of quotes from local solicitors and we decided on Boys & Maughan as our buyers and sellers were also using them. This was the best decision we made! They are efficient and effortlessly contactable. We were allocated the Margate branch as our buyer and seller were at different branches (to avoid conflict of interest) and Sharon Bayne was our solicitor and due to her hard work, we were able to complete before the stamp duty ended.

Despite being busy, she was available to answer questions and if she was unavailable, her secretary Abbie was always on hand to offer advice and reassurances. Sharon worked evenings and weekends preparing contracts, sending enquiries and it is clear that this firm goes above and beyond to give a professional and outstanding service to their clients.

We can't thank Sharon and their team for all they have done. In addition, we needed a declaration of trust and Richard Welton was equally as informative, efficient and professional. Thanks to them we secured our dream home in a matter of weeks and also had a bit of money left over to buy some furniture. Thank you so much for all you did for us Boys and Maughan, we are so grateful!

We can not fault this team. We have been working with Maddison and Mellisa for 3 months and have felt SO supported along the way.
