EDC Lord takes its name from our founder Edwin David Charles Lord who began his legal practice in 1919 operating from premises in Southall, Middlesex. Over the next 30 years the firm flourished. After the Second World War, Edwin Lord decided to retire and the practice was acquired by Jim Langley and Bill West, but it continued to trade under the EDC Lord banner.
Our employment team is headed-up by a partner-level solicitor who is also an accredited mediator and who also supervises the work of the team. Strength-in-depth is provided by an in-house barrister* with a Masters Degree in Law. Between us we have over 46 years' post-qualification experience, practising exclusively in dispute resolution, including employment law.

Between us we have over 46 years' post-qualification experience, practising exclusively in dispute resolution, including property disputes and landlord and tenant claims.
We have been dealing with property since the practice was founded in 1919. We recognise that buying or moving home is a stressful matter for most people arising only rarely. We currently have 6 very experienced conveyancers operating in teams with considerable support staff, also highly experienced, who act professionally with all aspects of buying and selling a residential property, freehold or leasehold, privately or by auction, older or listed properties, newly built property on small or major developments.

We've been with EDC Lords for the purchase of our house. Fantastic value for money. Gemma and Abby are incredibly responsive, give excellent advice and will chase the sellers' solicitors for complete and accurate answers on all matters. We encountered some complications en route to completion and received dedicated support from Gemma and Abby, which ultimately let us complete before the mortgage offer ran out. Also, they go by the book.
