I would never reccommend this company to anybody who is seeking a good solicitor. I have had 2 highly unsatisfying experiences of him, once through my grandsons absent and abusive birth father wanting contact, , which in the opinions of all our family members was not handled with any level of competency, , infact it was suggested that we delayed proceedings by sending the original letter, informing us that this case was being brought, by sending the letter first to my ex wife, who would then forward it to me, claiming that she did not have my daughters address, and that I, in return was to hold onto the letter for a short while, before sending it to my daughter.
This was purpousley in an attempt to prevent him gaining legal aid, as it was only a matter of weeks prior to legal aid being withdrawn. Secondly, I was most unfortunate to find that my late father had opted to employ his services to be executor of his will. Again I wa met with incompetency in that Hollis failed to close my fathers current bank account, despite me telling him that transactions set up on the account were continuing to be paid out.
This was only resolved when I personally went into the St Austell branch and closed it myself. Also he gave me several dates for when he said probate would be finalised, the first being "possibly November 2018", thereafter a few more dates were mentioned until it was finally settled in August 2019. As for his fees. well I was shcked to say the least to find he had charged 30,000 for his "services".
I did request an itemised bill from him as I, nor could anybody else, believe this amount was correct, but Hollis refused my request for the said bill. Overall I personally view him as incompetent and highly expensive
