Greene & Greene was established in 1893 by John Wollaston Greene and he was was joined by his brother, Kenneth Wollaston Greene, shortly afterwards. The Greene brothers had followed their father and grandfather into the legal profession. As well as starting the firm, John was Registrar of the Diocese to the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, and Registrar of the Archdeaconry of Sudbury.
