Report
Anyone who is facing questioning by an authority such as the police, the Department of Work and Pensions, HMRC or a local Council should have expert criminal advice and representation from the start. We are on hand 24/7, 365 days a year to attend police stations. Our team of criminal defence solicitors have handled hundreds of such cases and are there to provide professional support in these stressful situations.
Police Law
Report
An encounter with the police can be very daunting and intimidating and most people will not know their rights, or the jurisdiction of the police who have a wide range of intrusive investigatory powers. As one of the best solicitors in this area, we offer strategic and pragmatic advice on difficult situations our clients find themselves in including police cautions, bail, property searches and material seizing, DNA and fingerprint samples, the freezing and restraint of bank accounts.Police cautions - people often think a police caution has no implications but in fact it does as it shows up on an enhanced CRB check.

All criminal proceedings start in the Magistrates' Court. Some remain in this court and are concluded here, while more serious cases are referred to the Crown Court. In the Magistrates' Court the trial is overseen by three Magistrates or one District Judge, while in Crown Court the proceedings are overseen by a Judge and a jury of 12 people.
Serious Sexual Offences and Pornography
Report
The effect of being accused of committing any form of sexual offence cannot be underestimated, both on the person being accused and family members. Anyone who is either being investigated, or investigated and subsequently charged, will find that the impact of the investigation and or proceedings may have terrible consequences for them.
