After dozen phone calls, fax, registered letter all to Abbey bank I've had no joy in getting replacement debit card. I've been with Abbey at least 15 if not 20 years. Numerous times talking to customer complaints I've been promised I'd recieve new card within 6 weeks, 4 months later no card still. Today I've received letter from Abbey saying they won't send card to my address which is down as czech republic allthough we have had cards here before and the wife got card sent from Abbey Bradford international mailing department sent only 3 weeks ago and I can leave my account open and alternatively I can close my accout, my wages go in that account I need to buy air tickets, ferry tickets and of late my boss paid on his card for 5 flights and 2 ferrys of which I can not put receipts in to tax as they are on his card. They put 50 pounds credited to my account about 6 weeks ago for the hassle its caused me and promised even after doing security questions and checking my foreign address to send me card, theres lots more if needed. I do live and work in uk for 9 or 10 months a year am a british citizen but I stay in hotels or my parents.
