Customer Testimonials

The emotional turmoil I have experienced over the last 5 years has affected me in a way that I would never have felt possible, these feelings haven’t yet totally subsided but the calming effect since the very first time I spoke with your good self has very much overcome my sense of anguish, this has not just been noticed by me (in me feeling more "myself" than I have in far longer than I wish to recall!) but also by people around me including work colleagues but especially my close friend, who says she is so pleased as I seem to have far more optimism, my positive attitude to life has reappeared and I am not so "all over the place". Ruth as I am sure you are already well aware I say things as I see them, and where you are concerned I can only say how appreciative I am of the service I have received from you, it is refreshing and reassuring to find a Solicitor who offers such high standard of personal service with such professional competency. As I have said knowing you are representing myself, the children and their interests has made an almighty difference to the turmoil I have endured over the last 4 years. Whatever the outcome, knowing how hard you have worked on our behalf to secure the children’s future is something I will personally remain eternally grateful to you for.

I first met Ruth as a Family Needs Fathers Meeting in Northampton where she came along to give advice and support on a voluntary basis. I found Ruth extremely approachable and sympathetic towards my case Ruth has supported me for over 2 years on and off as i represent myself in the family courts. However I went along to one of her free consultations and was welcomed, listened too without prejudice. Ruth will try her best to arrange representation to suit all budgets whether you want full representation or just help preparing your case ready to represent yourself. Ruth is more than just a solicitor and really goes that extra mile to help you.

You may wish to change your name. You do not have to wait for your divorce to be finalised before you can change your name. If you would like to revert to your maiden name or to a new name, we can arrange this for you. It is a quick and simple process. For a competitive fixed fee we will prepare the Change of Name Deed on your behalf and provide you with certified copies for your use. The whole process can be completed within just 24 hours.

Often when a couple decide to live together, one of them or even both of them may have previously lived with a former partner. They may have retained the property in which they lived with their former partner, or they may have received payment from the former partner in respect of their share and interest in that property. In either case, you might wish to seek to protect your property or capital before agreeing to live with a new partner. You may wish to seek that your property and capital does not pass to your new partner, but to your children instead.

If you require protection from your partner or former partner who has been violent or threatening towards you or the children, we can help you to obtain that protection through the Court. Where your partner has been making life difficult for you, we could write to your partner on your behalf to inform them that their behaviour should cease. Where you have been accused of being violent to or threatening your ex partner and Court proceedings have been issued against you or you have received a letter from their solicitors, we can assist you and put your side of the events forward to the Court and to your ex partner's solicitors.

RT advised me against instructing her further when it became clear to her that to continue would not be in my, her client's, best interests. Understanding, caring and a model of integrity, RT is practicing not merely to the letter but also in the spirit of the rules of her profession. I just wanted to say you were brilliant when you helped me with my financial settlement. It is refreshing to have someone who is very prompt in communicating with me and very understanding of my situation. Ruth as I am sure you are already well aware I say things as I see them, and where you are concerned I can only say how appreciative I am of the service I have received from you, it is refreshing and reassuring to find a Solicitor who offers such high standard of personal service with such professional competency.

Or it may be that you have been separated for some time already and the children have now become settled. However, issues may still arise with regard to the children that require your attention. We also advise and assist grandparents and other family members who are not seeing the children and talk to you about other members of the family's rights and help to see the children. If you have a Court Order in respect of your children and your circumstances have changed or your ex-partner's circumstances have changed, the court order can be reviewed and revised.
