  • I would recommend this business

Sarah Mitchinson and her Martin Shepherd team handled a property sale on my behalf. There were several additional requests and delays on the buyer's side that made the process more complex than anticipated. Sarah and her team diligently followed up at every step to move things forwards. Excellent communication and responsiveness through and through - I was kept informed clearly and regularly. In the end, even with the unexpected complications on the buyer's side, it was definitely a seamless experience. A big thank you for that! You can confidently entrust Sarah with your solicitor needs.

Customer Testimonials

Sarah recently did the conveyancing for our sale and purchase. She kept us constantly updated throughout the transaction and we were never left wondering what was going on. Everything went so smoothly and we would thoroughly recommend Sarah to everyone and will not hesitate to use her again in the future if we need to. Thank you!

Fantastic service from Sarah and her team at Martin Shepherd. We had a difficult moving experience and they were there with advice and support the whole way.
Would definitely recommend them.

The legal work is undoubtedly the most frustrating part of any property sale, and having used several conveyancers in the past (from small independents to national firms to lender appointed call centres) I have never held this bunch in high regard. Not answering phone calls, paperwork being wrong or getting lost, not keeping you up to date about progress, solicitors on both sides blaming each other for delays - almost anyone I could think of who has ever bought or sold a property will probably have had similar experiences.
Not so with Martin Shepherd. Sarah Duncombe, who handled my property sale, was a breath of fresh air. Efficient, thorough (uncovering and dealing with issues that other less capable solictors will have missed), responsive (always answering emails even if via her secretary, and returning calls personally on the same day), patient and very clear in talking us through any questions, knowledgeable, persistent. At every step I felt that I could fully trust Sarah to be acting in our best interests.
I never thought I would be recommending a conveyancer, but that is how thoroughly excellent and professional Sarah's service was. If and when we are looking for our next property, I would have no hesitation in using Sarah again.

Residential Landlord & Tenant can prove a minefield for many and is a very complex area of law where a small error or omission can lead to serious problems. We give practical advice on issues ranging from the setting up of a Tenancy to avoid problems from the outset, to the recovery of property from occupants avoiding the potential pitfalls and legal costs that await the unwary. It is important when drafting a Tenancy Agreement that not only are all the standard, basic provisions included but also those relevant to the particular property concerned.

At Martin Shepherd our Wills & Probate Team advise on all issues relating to Wills and the administration of a deceased person's estate. We fully understand that dealing with the death of a relative or loved one is difficult enough without having to address the legal issues relating to the assets and debts involved, inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax. Relationship breakdowns are becomingly increasingly common with over half of all couples separating or divorcing. At Martin Shepherd Solicitors we understand that divorce is a stressful and emotional time and aim to give a sensitive service with realistic advice on the likely outcome and costs. We also give clear, understandable advice and information on the procedures involved. We adhere to the code of practice of Resolution which adopts a non-confrontational approach to family law matters. This practice not only often gives a better solution but can also be a considerable cost saving, which is extremely important as the assets will be reduced by the amount of legal fees spent.
