We believe the following key points are vital to an unbeatable legal team.

Proven Track Record. We are completely transparent with our success figures. Whilst we do not quote them unless you ask for them, we are extremely proud of our results.
Family Practice. Our team truly care about the clients that instruct us and the results that we achieve.
Cost Certainty. Quality legal representation shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg! We only work on a fixed fee basis, meaning you know what the case will cost from the outset.
Unrivalled Experience. Many defence strategies that we develop are unique to our firm. In fact, we’re so experienced in this area, we can often outline the best approach during our first phone call. We may even quote specific case law and explain how this can benefit your circumstances.
Nationwide Coverage. Some people choose to instruct a solicitor based upon their location. We ask that you instruct a solicitor based on their expertise. We represent clients across England and Wales.
Human Rights. We believe that every person has the right to a fair trial, no matter what the circumstances. Being charged with a criminal offence will not make you guilty of it. It’s crucial that you take the opportunity to check the evidence against you.

I didn’t know if I needed a solicitor for my drink driving case. I did some research and looked online. I came across some YouTube videos from MAJ Law about how to avoid a driving ban (I would recommend watching them). I called and spoke to Marcus Johnstone. He was clear and convincing, didn’t speak down to me and put me at ease. I instructed MAJ to handle my case. A couple of month in I received a call from David (I think I got his name right!). David told me my case had been dropped to due a ‘procedural irregularity’ which they’re seeing more and more of due to pressures on the police. No need to go to court and I’ll get some money back. Thank you MAJ Law!!

I first contacted MAJ Law around 12 months ago when I had been accused of drink driving. I couldn't risk losing my license as I need it for work. MAJ had been recommended by a friend. I don't know where I would be now if I hadn't made that phone call.

Forward 13 months and its finally over. Case thrown out! No ban, no points, not even a fine. I couldn't believe it.

MAJ Law are extremely professional, proactive, efficient and well worth the money. Highly recommended.

I was really hoping my case wouldn’t go to court, but my solicitor explained that this was the strongest argument. The police hadn’t served the right evidence against me despite my solicitors asking for it. My case went on for many months, but the process was made easier by MAJ updating me regularly. At trial my barrister presented an argument asking the court to exclude the evidence. He was calm and compelling. The court agreed and the Police withdrew my case. I accept that I was in the wrong but I could not face a 12 month ban. My lesson has still been learnt! MAJ Law are expensive but I guess you get what you pay for. I’ll also be getting some money back!!

James fisher was my solicitor he kept me in contact with everything that was happening, I felt I could ring or email him when ever i wanted to see if there was any new updates. We had a few times were cps and courts messed us around but that just made James more determined to win my case. Few weeks before trail date cps then wanted to reschedule the date, James put a stop to this and won my case 2 days before attending trail by getting it discontinued from court. Now awaiting to get some of money back thanks to James

I was a little bit scared of meeting the Barister at court as we had never meet before but as soon as met him I felt at ease. He was very knowledgeable and certainly new his stuff. He was awesome in court and defended by case fantastic and the great news was I never got a ban which was outstanding.

Today I received the news I had hoped for - my case had been dropped. My solicitors recommended we take my case back to court because the CPS hadn't given us to forensic evidence we were entitled to. I went to court with my solicitor who wiped the floor with the prosecution. The judge was on my side and agreed with my solicitor. I felt sorry for the CPS in court as they fumbled through the paperwork trying to figure out where it had all gone wrong! My case was dropped and I was awarded costs. Thank you to MAJ Law!!

I must thank MAJ Law for helping me with my case. I took a chance instructing them after speaking with one of the solicitors at the office. I found them to be helpful and extremely knowledgeable about motoring offences. In court, my solicitor was articulate and very persuasive. The magistrates sided with him and I achieved the outcome I had hoped for. Thanks again to all the team at MAJ Law.

Choosing the Right Solicitor

How to Choose the Right Solicitor for Your Case

Presented by Marcus Johnstone, Senior Solicitor at MAJ Law Solicitors in Widnes, Cheshire, UK

Choosing the right solicitor is extremely important and can affect the outcome of your case. In this video we look at the most important points to consider.

Choose a solicitor you feel comfortable with.
Speak to the solicitor direct, not a secretary, clerk or case worker.
Check whether your solicitor will be involved from day one, and throughout your case.
Dont be afraid to ask questions: How long have you been qualified? Do you deal exclusively with this area of law? How many cases have you won?
Make sure your solicitor explains all your options and what will happen if you plead guilty or not guilty.
Be wary if any solicitor advises you to plead guilty before completing a thorough examination of the evidence.
Make sure your solicitor can explain how your case can be defended based on the information you provide. Consider your chance of success.

Cases can be won by finding technical mistakes made by the police and prosecution service. Simply because the police say you were speeding / drink driving / drug driving / careless driving etc, does not make you guilty.
Check whether your solicitor deals exclusively with your area of concern. Is your solicitor a specialist?
Does your solicitor have a good working relationship with the prosecution office in your area?
Can you contact your solicitor outside normal office hours?
If shopping around, make sure you compare like for like. Check exactly what your solicitor plans to do. Is the price quoted simply for a guilty plea or for a full defence?
