From Our Website
We pride ourselves on being problem solvers so that our clients know they have someone to call on who is there to advise and support, often during stressful and difficult times in their life. They can be confident that they are dealing with a long established Firm with experience and a wide range of services. We have a number of offices in different locations but, we wish to help clients wherever they live. It may be an over used phrase but, we do adopt a team approach within the Firm, drawing on the expertise of an experienced and qualified group of people who work with clients to help and advise with their private or business problems.
Court of Protection: If a person becomes unable to manage their affairs and has not taken the precaution of preparing an LPA a person can be appointed (known as a Deputy) under an Order of the Court. We can help with the extensive paperwork and on occasion when required can apply to act as Deputy. Probate & Trusts: When relatives or friends die and you need advice, we offer a sympathetic and comprehensive service. We also offer advice and assistance in relation to Trust arrangements. Conveyancing - Residential: We are accredited as a member of the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS).
We would always recommend potential clients to contact us to discuss the details of any residential property matter to ensure that we provide you with as accurate quotation of costs as possible on a no obligation basis. We can also discuss other issues relating to your matter that you may have concerns about. These are the Firm's fees. In addition there will be other costs and charges on top which we will have to pay to third parties on your behalf as a necessary part of the process. These include local and other search fees, Land Registry fees, stamp duty land tax, bank transfer fees, information packs, charges for notices and deeds and so on.
We advise potential clients to contact us for a free, no-obligation estimate of costs and timescales in relation to any matter. We can give you a more accurate quote once we have more detailed information. We aim to offer all clients a friendly and efficient service. If, however, any difficulty should arise, including a complaint about the firm's bill, in the first instance please discuss the issue with the fee earner concerned. If the matter is not resolved, you should raise the matter with our Complaints Partner, Colin Burdett of the Axminster Office - telephone 01297 32206, unless he is the subject of your complaint, in which case please contact William Bennett on Chard telephone 01460 61000.

It is so easy to make excuses for not making a Will or not keeping it up to date. Yet great comfort can be obtained from knowing that arrangements have been made to ensure that a person's wishes are known to take effect when they are no longer here. The firm offers help and guidance and a comprehensive service to ensure that a person's wishes are correctly incorporated within a valid Will. As often the biggest hurdle is getting started we offer a free initial interview to discuss the information that is required, Wills questionnaires are available on request if some pointers are needed as to the detail that will be required.
