Housing Act 1996, but which was initially provided to the applicant under s.188, is a "dwelling" for the purposes of ss.3 and 5, Protection from Eviction Act 1977. In the present case, the appellant occupied the property as a dwelling and the notice to quit served on her was invalid because it did not contain the information prescribed by the Notices to Quit etc. (Prescribed Information) Regulations 1988 (SI 1988/2201). This strange sounding abbreviation merely refers to the release number of a budget announcement made in 1999 which was aimed at countering tax avoidance where personal services are provided. It relates to individuals who provide services to another business, often through their own company. In other words, they set up a company in which they are the sole director and shareholder and that company offers its services to another business. There is a burden on public organisations to make a determination on whether staff are employees or not.

ARKrights as part of our niche civil litigation expertise is well familiar with the conduct of Accident claims. These could be for Accidents at Work, Road Accidents or Claims arising from other forms of Serious Injury. After a spinal injury, a head and brain injury, an injury which leads to amputation, or fatal injuries arising from an accident, the immediate priority is to ensure appropriate support - be that physical, emotional, practical or financial. ARKrights has a specialist personal injury team that understands this and is dedicated to pursuing compensation claims on behalf of claimants who sustain life changing injuries.
